Hazel Findlay: Mindset

This International Women’s Day, our Talks to Elevate and Inspire welcomes Hazel Findlay: Urban Uprising Ambassador, mental training coach and one of the UK’s leading climbers.

Since starting out on the cliffs of Prembrokeshire 25 years ago, Hazel has spent the last eight years traveling the world as a full-time professional climber. In addition to racking up a huge list of climbing accomplishments, including becoming the first British woman to climb E9, and free El Capitan, Hazel is also passionate about the psychology of climbing. This interest in psychology led her to train as a coach, specialising in helping people with their mindset and mental management.

As part of our Talks to Elevate and Inspire series, Hazel will discuss the use of psychological training to improve climbing by overcoming fears and limitations. Her entertaining and thought-provoking stories from her adventures will leave you motivated to think about your own challenges and how the skills we learn while climbing can be useful in the rest of life.

A recent NHS report into the mental health and wellbeing of our young people has shown we are facing a crisis; they need support now more than ever.
