We are seeking enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated people to join our board.
About us:
Urban Uprising improves the life chances of disadvantaged young people using rock climbing. Our programmes deliver physical, social and personal development, and gives young people access to highly trained positive role models though our coaches.
We give young people who wouldn’t normally have the chance an opportunity to experience the transformational personal change that rock climbing can bring.
We work in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Cambridge and Bristol, and partner with local youth organisations to reach young people experiencing disadvantage, often from deprived communities.
Our Board:
Urban Uprising is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), and we have a Board of Trustees with a diverse skill set who come from a range of backgrounds. The Board meets 4 times a year at a minimum and engages with each other and staff throughout the year.
Role and requirements: We are seeking enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated people who care deeply about helping disadvantaged young people. Being on our board is a rewarding role and you will help Urban Uprising in its mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged youth. You will play a central role in the governance of Urban Uprising at this exciting time of growth and development. A reasonable regular and consistent commitment of time is required. We are looking for two people to join the Board. One Regular Trustee and one Trustee with finance skills that will learn from the current Treasurer, with a view to taking over that role. Being located in the central belt of Scotland or Bristol is preferred but not essential. Although the role is non-remunerated, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed with training and induction provided. No previous Trustee experience is needed.
